vitaminsforyou Don't call it a comeback 'cause he's been here before!
Bryce
Kushnier, aka vitaminsforyou, is back and he's packin' more heat! Two
years ago Bryce came to Winnipeg to talk about live digital performance
culture using his vocals and a laptop on stage. This year he is back,
ready to show off new instruments and a full band that will rawk the
Winnipeg Jazz Fest.
Rolling off the his win at the Qwartz Pro/Art Electronic Music Awards for Song of the Year, Bryce's career as a digital ambient musician continues to grow alongside his success remixing for other artists. On Wednesday, June 25, 2008, Bryce will talk about the economics and the politics of remixing, why it can be intensely satisfying, and how it can go horribly wrong. If you are interested in digital audio, DJ culture, and remixing, you will not want to miss this event.
Bryce will be using several different software applications to
highlight how he approaches remixing including FL Studio, and Sony's
Acid Pro If we're lucky we may even be treated to a demo of a Yamaha
Tenori-on and the Monome!
Wednesday night also marks the first time we've joined forces with the
Manitoba Audio Recording Industries Association (MARIA) and their
membership to host this presentation. This will be a great opportunity
to mingle with digital music artists and other new media developers
The event will be hosted at Psych Health on Bannatyne, and begins at 7
pm sharp. You MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE as limited seating will be
available on a first-come-first-registered basis. There is no charge to
attend and all are welcome.
We hope to see you out!
Kevin
