Di-o-matic 3ds Max PresentationMNM Presents; "Get Lost in Visual Effects" on Thursday, Feb 16, in Red River College  on Princess at 6:30 pm. Get there early to find parking and secure yourself a seat! We're meeting in the auditorium on the main floor (across from the security desk).

We have been fortunate to book Laurent Abecassis of Di-o-matic in Montreal to join us for this training event. In 2005 Laurent won an Emmy award for the Visual Effects he created on the "Lost" television series. This Thursday evening he'll show you how he created these Emmy award winning effects in person using samples from the TV series "Lost" and "Alias".

Laurent will demonstrate how he generates visual effects utilizing Auto Desk's, 3D-Studio Max. 3ds Max is the program behind an endless number of films and TV series such as Battlestar Galactica, HBO's Rome, and The Soprano's, not to mention video games like Unreal, Knights of the Old Republic, and World of Warcraft (WoW).

3ds Max Certification Program
3ds MaxThursday night's event will also be a great opportunity to tell you about the Manitoba Interactive Digital Media Association's (MIDMA) Advanced 3D Studio Max coming this March 2006. If you would like to become certified in 3ds Max you'll want to hear about the Video Gaming and Visual Effects curriculum that will be covered by Laurent Abecassis who will be your instructor.

Brock and I hope to see you on Thursday night!
