On today's show we looked at different types of tech that you can wear.
The Audex Helmet from Burton incorporates Motorola headphones that connect via Bluetooth to your iPod and cell phone. Some think that it's lunacy to cranks the tunes and answer calls while snowboarding. I say, what better way to find a friend who's just been buried under a mountain of snow?
You can find this product in Winnipeg at Royal Sports.
The Personal Area Network Hoodie (or Scotte Vest) from ThinkGeek.com is one of the most effective ways I've seen to inconspicuously carry around all your gear including cell phone, iPod, digital camera, etc. A series of pathways inside the hoodie allow you to string multiple headphones and magnetic-flap pockets ensure nothing falls out.
Voltaic Systems make the Voltaic Backpack.
Outer solar panels charge an internal Lithium Ion battery that can
power your PDA, cell phone, digital camera, and iPod. Eleven standard
adapters are included.
Apple and Nike have teamed up to deliver the Nike + iPod Sport Kit.
The Sport Kit will monitor how many miles you've run and your pace, and
transmit it wirelessly to your iPod Nano. When you get back home, plug
your iPod into your computer and a detailed log of how you are
progressing gets uploaded to the net. If you feel competitive you can
rank yourself nationally or internationally and challenge your friends.
This may just be the product that gets me running again. You can find
the iPod Nano at Powerland Computers and the Nike + iPod Sport Kit at various sports stores.
