On Tuesday, December 12/06, New Media Manitoba presents, "Photo Workflow on the Down Low" at the Psych Health Centre. The meeting starts at 7 pm sharp and there is no charge to attend.

Photographic workflow is the movement and processing of digital images through a work process. It covers all aspects of the photographic process - from image capture to image output and everything in between. Finding ways to optimize this workflow is an important task for professional photographers. Improved workflows can leave more time for photography and less time spent sitting in front of their computers.

Commercial photographer, Ian McCausland, will relate his experience in finding a personal workflow suitable for him. He will focus on his most recent and radical change in his workflow: Apple's Aperture. Released only a year ago Aperture rose the stakes in the quest to capture professional photographers, prompting Adobe to answer back with a quickly released public beta of Lightroom. But the battle is not over! With the recent release of Aperture 1.5, Apple introduces a whole host of new features, making it one of the most versatile programs for the professional photographer.

Topics that will be covered on Tuesday are:

• a step by step of Ian's own workflow with a typical shoot
• comparisons of Aperture vs other solutions offered
• a demo of Lightcrafts' Lightzone software, with it's unique visual approach to digital photo editing

We also have a special treat on Tuesday! The first 20-attendees will receive a special Lightzone CD that gives you unlimited access to the software for the first 30-days. If you like the software, New Media Manitoba members have been provided with a show-discount code that can be used for significant savings.

The giveaways don't end there. We'll have several Apple Pro-Training books for Aperture to giveaway, as well as Aperture Training DVDs from DMTS, and a full version of Aperture 1.5 valued at $400!

We hope you'll be able to join us for some essential photo-workflow on Tuesday, Dec. 12/06.
