 On Tuesday, March 27/07, NMM will present, "WordPress Your Blog (into Submission!)" The meeting will be held in the 2nd floor A/V room at Psych Health on William. The meeting begins at 7 pm sharp.
Lloyd Hannesson, a regular trainer with New Media Manitoba, has been using Blogs to communicate with his audience for years. He has created numerous WordPress Blogs such as PGRevolution, WiiSpot, and DS:Life to help market his weekly podcasts to over 15,000 subscribers. I am constantly amazed at how Lloyd finds new ways to tweak and tickle WordPress into submission. On Tuesday we will show you how to install and customize your own Blog and your life will never be the same again!
Some of the items Lloyd will cover on Tuesday include:
- a brief overview on blogging, what it is, etc.
- setting up a test blog quickly (MAMP, XAMP, LAMP)
- Installing Wordpress with a simple walk-through of the config screens
- discuss themes with a display on how easy it is to change and customize
- discuss a few cool plugins to enhance your blog
This meeting will be useful for anyone that wants a blog to market
their product or services to the world or to start a conversation with
a global audience. Coffee and doughnuts will be on-hand and there is no
charge to attend.
Plan to arrive early to find parking and a seat. We hope to see you out!
